Background
The Central Texas Veterans Healthcare System, under the Department of Veterans Affairs, is seeking laundry transportation services to support its healthcare operations. Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing all drivers, supervision, management support, trucks, trailers, and equipment necessary for laundry service deliveries and pickups. Key tasks include:
1. Adhering to cleanliness standards established by the Association of Linen Management (ALM), International Fabri-care Institute (IFI), and VA Laundry publications.
2. Maintaining physical separation between soiled and clean linens using pass-through equipment and ensuring positive air pressure in clean areas.
3. Responding to emergency situations that may require alterations in service schedules as defined by the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
4. Performing daily deliveries from the Doris Miller VA Medical Center in Waco to Dallas VA Medical Center and Kerrville VA Medical Center, with specific pickup and delivery times outlined for each facility.
5. Ensuring compliance with security protocols during deliveries and maintaining communication with the COR regarding any issues or emergencies.
6. Providing training for personnel involved in the contract services, including initial orientation and annual refresher training.
