USSF - Vandenberg SFB SCIF Comm and IT Equipment Replacement - MRAS

On behalf of the United States Space Force (USSF), the General Services Administration (GSA) is conducting market research to support a significant infrastructure upgrade at Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB). The project centers around Building 10577, a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF), where outdated cabling and IT equipment will be replaced with modern, future-proof infrastructure. This initiative aims to enhance the operational capacity of new programs by providing robust and flexible communication systems that can adapt to evolving mission requirements.

The scope of work includes the complete removal of legacy cabling systems, which have been in place for 20-30 years, and the installation of advanced secure and unsecure networks. The project will cover approximately 17,410 square feet within the SCIF, spanning multiple rooms across the second and third floors. The contractor will be responsible for procuring, installing, configuring, and testing new communication cabling systems. This involves setting up new conveyance in specified rooms where current infrastructure is either lacking or inadequate. Additionally, interconnecting cables and patch panels from external communication rooms will be integrated into the SCIF.

The project requires a dedicated on-site Contractor Project Manager (CPM) who holds a current TS/SCI clearance to oversee all aspects from site surveys to final acceptance certification. The CPM's responsibilities include coordinating site activities, managing resources, ensuring minimal government involvement through effective scheduling and organization of weekly meetings. They must also provide regular status reports and coordinate with government offices for access permissions and quality assurance inspections.

Overall, this contract aims to deliver a state-of-the-art IT environment capable of supporting classified and unclassified network operations essential for VSFB missions. By implementing this advanced infrastructure solution within Building 10577's SCIF space, USSF seeks to maintain operational readiness while ensuring technological adaptability for future mission requirements.
