USSF - Repair Sewage Treatment Equipment - MRAS

The United States Space Force (USSF), in collaboration with the General Services Administration (GSA), is conducting market research to explore potential solutions for upgrading the sewage treatment equipment at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance infrastructure and ensure efficient operations at critical facilities. The primary goal of this project is to replace outdated and failing equipment with a modern, integrated system that can effectively manage rag and grit removal at the Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility (RWWTF).

The scope of work involves procuring, installing, and commissioning a new package headworks system that combines rag and grit removal functionalities. The existing systems, namely the "JWC Muffin Monster" for rag removal and "Pista-Grit" for grit removal, have reached the end of their service life, with significant failures requiring urgent attention. By consolidating these two separate replacement projects into one comprehensive solution, USSF aims to achieve cost savings in equipment procurement, installation, construction efforts, and long-term maintenance.

Contractors interested in this project are expected to provide an innovative solution that includes a single integrated unit capable of screening particulate matter such as rags and grit down to 2mm without blinding. The new system must also include all necessary valves, piping, and appurtenances required for seamless integration into the existing infrastructure at RWWTF. This project not only addresses operational deficiencies but also aligns with regulatory compliance by adhering to relevant federal, state, and local standards.

As part of this market research effort, GSA seeks input from qualified vendors who can meet these requirements under a potential small business set-aside program.
