Release Date: May 19, 2025

Response Date: June 13, 2025

This information has been prepared by United States Postal Service (USPS) Facilities National Programs Category Management Team (CMT). This Request for Information (RFI) does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that the Postal Service will act in this matter.

Requirement

The USPS is seeking qualified manufacturers for prefabricated, compact buildings for deployment within the contiguous United States. These units serve as small postal facilities on either a temporary, emergency, long term, or permanent basis. USPS requires a manufacturer that can produce quality structures in a factory setting and transport the units to a specified location. At this time USPS is not providing any specific design requirements, however basic unit requirements are outlined herein for informational use in order to prepare a capabilities statement response.

Basic design and manufacturing requirements for compact buildings include an HVAC system, satellite dish capability, handicap accessibility, plumbing system including toilets and hand washing stations, electrical power capability, exterior signage, LED lighting, casework and cabinetry, and postal equipment including rotary cabinets and parcel lockers. Design of the structure must meet all applicable building codes and USPS design requirements.
