Description

THIS IS A SYNOPSIS NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation or request for proposal and no contract will be awarded from this notice. The Military Sealift Command has a requirement for the upcoming Regular Overhaul Dry-Docking (ROH/DD) for the USNS ZEUS (T-ARC 7). The period of performance for this requirement is on/about 17 January 2024 and continuing for a period of 120 calendar days. The USNS ZEUS (T-ARC 7) has a length of 513 Ft, a Beam of 73 Ft, Displacement 15,174 Tons. Area of consideration is East Coast.
Major work items include: General Services for the Ship, Clean and Gas Free Tanks, Voids, Cofferdams and Spaces, Superstructure Preservation, Inspect and Clean Bilge, Prepare, Prime, Paint, Engine Room Bilge Sections, Non-Slip Renewal, Ladder Repairs, Watertight Closure Inspection, Bulwark Steel Replacement and Outrigger Removal, Sewage Tank Preservation, Automation and Propulsion Control System Inspection, Thrust and Lineshaft Bearing Inspection, Switchboard Cleaning, Bow and Stern Thruster Motor Inspection, Thermographic Survey, Generator Cleaning and Inspection, TV DTS Service, Antenna Maintenance, Halon and CO2 Extinguishing System, Fire Damper Inspection, Port FWD Cable Drum Preservation, Inspect, Test and Certify Machinery Space Cranes and Hoist, Sims Pumps Repairs, Sewage Tank Preservation, SCBA Compressor Service, Rescue Boat Annual Inspection, Life Boat and Rescue Boat, Davit Annual Inspection, Life Boat Annual Inspection, Liferafts Annual Certifications, FWD Crane Replacement and Certification, AFT Crane Replacement and Certification, Stateroom and Shower Stall Replacement, Fan Overhaul, Galley Ventilation and Gaylord Hood Cleaning, Propulsion Shaft Survey, Underwater Hull Preservation, Docking and Undocking, Anchor and Chain Inspection, Rudder and Keel Examination.
The estimated issue date for this solicitation is on or about 29 June 2023. After issuance, solicitation and supporting documents will be made available on available through the Solicitation Module of the Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment at https://piee.eb.mil/ under solicitation number N3220523R4221. All requests must provide Cage Code.
A Sources Sought Notice was posted on SAM.gov on 27 April 2023 with a response date of 12 May 2023. As a result of said notice, this requirement will be solicited as Total Small Business Set-Aside. MSC's Small Business Deputy reviewed the market research results and concurred with the decision to procure this requirement as such on 14 June 2023. The appropriate NAICS Code is 336611. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from this potential source as a result of synopsis. There are no responses due based on this presolicitation notice. Background
The Military Sealift Command (MSC) has a requirement for the upcoming Regular Overhaul Dry-Docking (ROH/DD) for the USNS ZEUS (T-ARC 7). The mission of MSC is to provide sealift and ocean transportation for all U.S. military services. The goal of this contract is to ensure the operational readiness and maintenance of the USNS ZEUS, which is a critical asset in supporting military operations.
