USNS POINT LOMA Vest Davit Training

Background
The US Navy is seeking technical services for the FMD VestDavit OEM to provide crew training on launch and control procedures, basic maintenance, and safety. This contract is aimed at enhancing the operational capabilities of the USNS POINT LOMA by ensuring that crew members are adequately trained in the use of the Vest Davit system.

The training will take place at JEB Little Creek, Virginia.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide the following services:
1. Authorized Vest Davit OEM representatives must be present during the training period from June 8 to June 12, 2026. Representatives shall arrive on board by 0800 each day and work until 1700, with a lunch break from 1130 to 1300.
2. Training will cover:
- Launch & Control Procedures
- Basic Operator Maintenance Procedures including cleaning of the 11M RHIB, hydraulic system inspection, wire rope inspection, and sump tank level readings.
- Operator Safety Instructions.
3. The OEM will assist in expediting any emergent material needs for equipment repairs as necessary.
4. The contractor must furnish tools and test equipment as required.
5. A hard copy certificate from DMS VestDavit must be provided for each crew member who completes the training, to be given to either the Ship's Master, Chief Mate, or Chief Engineer at the end of training.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period from June 8 to June 12, 2026.
