USMS Intent to Award Brand Name - Para-X MIFAKs

The United States Marshals Service (USMS) is issuing a Request for Quotation (RFQ) to solicit a GSA Schedule quote for BMK Ventures PARA-X Massive Injury First Aid Kits (MIFAKs) - Brand Name Only- as stated below. This solicitation is prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 8.4, Federal Supply Schedules. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 339113: Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing. **INTENT TO AWARD A BRAND NAME TO A SOLE SOURCE** The United States Marshals Service intends to establish a Blanket Purchase Agreement for PARA-X Massive Injury First Aid Kits (MIFAKs - Part: PARA-X-MIFAK-V3) from BMK Ventures for a period of one (1) year not to Exceed $250,000.00. Massive Injury First Aid Kits (IFAK) for Deputy U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers engaged in both the training and operational environment. The MIFAK is High-Risk Individual Trauma Kit (HR-ITK) that consists of two distinct pieces designated as an Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK) and a Tourniquet (TQ). Inside the IFAK are several specifically created, designed and assembled emergency lifesaving items critical for USMS and Task Force Officers enforcement personnel to carry. This item is a purpose-built item specifically made by BMK Ventures Inc. for the USMS Operational Medical Support Unit in conjunction with Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, there is no other known vendor that manufactures this exact item. "Knock-offs", or "mock-ups" of this item are not acceptable due to the precise nature of the items that are in each HR-ITK. These items are used in life and death situations to save lives in trauma situations. The quality and exact placement of the items within the HR-ITK must be exactly the same in each HR-ITK in order to be able to perform lifesaving actions with the same exact kit utilized during the 8 hours of training with this item.
