Background
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is conducting a sources sought to determine the interest of small business concerns in a future project for the construction of a new USDA Grape Research Lab. The project is located at 2865 Pre-Emption Road, in the Town of Geneva, Ontario County, New York, on the McCarthy Farm site of Cornell University’s AgriTech campus. The project is being procured by the United States Army Corps of Engineers on behalf of the USDA-Agricultural Research Service (USDA-ARS).

Work Details
The construction project involves the development of a laboratory/office building (LOB) consisting of a four-story steel-framed building measuring approximately 57,900 GSF. Additionally, a separate 10,600 GSF Greenhouse for the NGIC is to be constructed. The project also includes demolition of existing buildings and construction of temporary utilities structure on-site prior to demolition. The contract duration is estimated at 562 calendar days with an estimated cost limit between $25,000,000 and $100,000,000. Interested small businesses are required to respond with specific documentation regarding their small business status and past experience on similar projects.
