The USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is seeking to procure an Automated DNA Analysis and Size Selection Pulsed-Field Electrophoresis System, specifically the LightBench Discover or an equivalent system. This acquisition is part of their mission to enhance research capabilities in agricultural sciences through advanced genetic analysis technologies. Work Details
The contract involves the delivery of the following items:
1. CG-12500-05 LightBench Discover Instrument: A modular workstation capable of automating gel-based size selection, fragment analysis, and plate-based quantification of dsDNA. It must enable pulsed-field functionality for separation and analysis of DNA fragments up to 100kb and beyond.
2. Install Kit for LightBench Discover: Includes assembly and calibration apparatus, camera calibration target, and other necessary components.
3. CG-14216-01 LightBench Installation and Customer Training: Comprehensive training for users on the operation of the system.
The proposed system must meet or exceed minimum salient characteristics including automated gel-based DNA size selection, recovery of selected DNA, pulsed-field electrophoresis capability, fragment-length analysis of at least 80 kb, DNA quantification, and compatibility with next-generation sequencing workflows.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is from October 1, 2026, to December 1, 2026.

Items will be delivered to PWA Daniel K. Inouye U.S. Pacific Basin located at 64 Nowelo Street, Hilo, HI 96720.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide pricing for all line items and may only propose exact products or verified same/similar equivalent products. Additionally, bidders are required to comply with all applicable Federal anti-discrimination laws.

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial products prepared in accordance with FAR Part 12. This announcement constitutes the solicitation; quotations are being requested under Solicitation No. 127EAU26Q0080.

The USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is seeking an Automated DNA Analysis and Size Selection Pulsed-Field Electrophoresis System, LightBench Discover or equivalent, including the required installation kit, installation, setup, calibration, and customer training. The proposed system must meet or exceed the minimum salient characteristics identified in the attached Specifications Sheet, including automated gel-based DNA size selection, recovery of selected DNA, pulsed-field electrophoresis capability, fragment-length analysis of at least 80 kb, DNA quantification, and compatibility with next-generation sequencing workflows.

This acquisition is a Total Small Business Set-Aside under NAICS 334516..

The Government intends to make one firm-fixed-price award. Contractors must submit pricing for all line items. Exact products or verified same/similar equivalent products will be considered.
