USAID/Uzbekistan Market Systems Transformed

Background
The Market Systems Transformed activity aims to achieve sustainable and inclusive economic growth in Uzbekistan by strengthening businesses and the business-enabling environment in targeted sectors, while addressing the barriers faced by women, youth, and underrepresented groups. The activity will be implemented through a single cost-plus-fixed fee completion contract. The period of performance for this contract is 5 (five) years with a total estimated cost plus fixed fee of approximately $18 million.

Work Details
The purpose of this contract is to enhance sustainable and inclusive economic growth by strengthening businesses and the business-enabling environment in targeted sectors, while addressing the barriers faced by women, youth, and underrepresented groups. The contract type is a Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF) Completion contract. The total estimated cost for the performance of the work required under the Statement of Work, exclusive of fixed fee, if any, is $TBD. The fixed fee, if any, is $TBD. The estimated cost plus fixed fee, if any, is $TBD.

The work includes:
- Reducing or eliminating barriers to private sector growth in the ICT, tourism, textiles sectors and green economy sub-sectors
- Increasing private sector investment and access to finance in these sectors
- Facilitating exports to specific regions
- Digitalization and greenification of SME business processes
- Fostering contacts between U.S. and Uzbekistan SMEs
- Grants to individual high impact firms
- Facilitating formal employment opportunities for women, youth and other underrepresented groups
- Assessing skills needed by the sectors
- Identifying local universities to collaborate with on curriculum development.
