USAID/Indonesia Request For Information - Disaster Management Capacity Support

Background
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Indonesia Mission is initiating a new program aimed at enhancing disaster management capacities in Indonesia. This initiative aligns with the Government of Indonesia's (GOI) strategic plans and priorities, particularly the 2015-2045 Disaster Management Vision and the BNPB Strategic Plan 2020-2024.

The program seeks to build strategic partnerships with the National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB) and other relevant ministries, focusing on targeted technical assistance and capacity building to improve disaster preparedness and response capabilities.

Work Details
The USAID Disaster Management Capacity Support Activity will involve several key tasks:

1. Provide targeted technical assistance for enhanced response readiness, including training for Rapid Reaction Teams (Tim Reaksi Cepat - TRC), strategies to enhance surge capacity, and integration of gender sensitivity into disaster management practices.

2. Support interagency coordination by developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for military involvement in disaster management, improving multi-agency coordination, and advancing gender-sensitive programming.

3. Facilitate strategic partnerships by promoting cross-learning between USAID and BNPB, establishing linkages with specialized US Federal agencies, and supporting trilateral and multilateral partnerships in disaster management.

Period of Performance
The anticipated duration of this activity is three years, subject to funding availability.

Place of Performance
The primary location for this activity will be at the national level in Indonesia, with some activities implemented in selected subnational areas.
