Description

The Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) has initiated the Summer Faculty Fellowship Program (SFFP) with the goal of strengthening basic research efforts and fostering collaboration between Air Force scientists and academic researchers. This program is designed to introduce faculty and student researchers from various academic institutions to Air Force laboratory facilities across the United States. Through this initiative, AFOSR aims to build essential connections within the Science, Technology, Mathematics, and Engineering fields that are relevant to the Air Force's mission.

To support this endeavor, the General Services Administration (GSA), on behalf of the United States Air Force (USAF), is conducting market research to identify potential contractors capable of providing comprehensive administrative support services for the SFFP. The selected contractor will be responsible for managing up to 250 faculty members and 90 student fellows each summer. This includes overseeing administrative tasks such as stipend disbursement and ensuring that all participants have a seamless experience throughout their fellowship period.

The administrative support services are crucial for maintaining the operational efficiency of the SFFP. The contractor's role will involve meticulous management of participant records, coordination with various Air Force research laboratories, and handling any logistical challenges that may arise during the program. By facilitating these processes effectively, the contractor will help ensure that participating faculty and students can focus on their research activities without administrative hindrances.
