USACE Galveston District - Texas City I-Wall Replacement   3

Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District is issuing this solicitation for the Texas City I-Wall Replacement project. The mission of the Corps is to provide vital engineering services in peace and war to strengthen the nation’s security, energize the economy, and reduce risks from disasters.

The goal of this contract is to demolish approximately 360 linear feet of existing floodwall and construct approximately 360 linear feet of new floodwall, specifically replacing the I-wall with a concrete inverted T-wall to enhance flood protection in an active chemical refinery environment.

Work Details
The contractor will perform the following construction tasks:
- Demolition of approximately 360 linear feet of existing floodwall.
- Construction of approximately 360 linear feet of new concrete inverted T-wall from ground elevation (approx. 9.5 feet) to elevation 22.25 feet, including approximately 12,800 linear feet of steel H-piles.
- Miscellaneous earthwork and removal tasks as specified in the plans.
- Mobilization and demobilization activities as required for project execution.
- Conduct vibration monitoring throughout construction activities due to proximity to sensitive areas.
- Coordination with INEOS for loading and unloading activities along the dock area.

Period of Performance
The contractor shall begin performance within 10 calendar days after receiving the notice to proceed and complete all work within 637 calendar days.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed in Texas City, Galveston County, Texas.
