USACE Brazos Island Harbor, Port Isabel PA 3 Improvements, Cameron County, Texas   2

Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District Office is issuing a contract for improvements at the Brazos Island Harbor (BIH) Port Isabel Placement Area (PA) 3 in Cameron County, Texas. The goal of this contract is to enhance the infrastructure and protect the shoreline through various construction tasks. This project is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside.

Work Details
The work consists of:

1. Schedule 1 – Replacement and installation of a drop inlet structure for PA3 and construction of a semi-compacted containment and access dike.

Options include:
- Option 1 - Construction of 650 tons of rip-rap shoreline erosion protection (additional 13 calendar days);
- Option 2 - Construction of 2,190 tons of rip-rap shoreline erosion protection (additional 42 calendar days);
- Option 3 - Construction of 680 tons of rip-rap shoreline erosion protection (additional 20 calendar days);
- Option 4 - Additional construction of an uncompacted training dike (additional 17 calendar days).

2. The contractor must be familiar with dredge material placement areas and the soft material within them, as well as traffic conditions on the Brazos Island Harbor. The completion time for Schedule No. 1 is estimated at 142 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed, with an additional estimated completion time of 92 calendar days for all options if awarded.
