Background
The contract is issued by the agency responsible for maintaining naval vessels, focusing on ensuring operational readiness and safety. The goal of this contract is to address specific issues identified in the ship's maintenance reports (CASREPs) related to seawater valves, which are critical for the vessel's cooling systems.

Work Details
The contractor is required to perform the following tasks:

1. Replace one or both High Seachest 30” Seawater Valves (SW-V-1 and/or SW-V-2) as per the requirements outlined in C3 CASREP 26015.

2. Machine HTFW No. 3 pump couplings to replace defective couplings, addressing C3 CASREP 26013.

3. Inspect and re-gasket LO cooler plates on MDG No. 1 and 3 to resolve issues noted in C4 CASREP 25052 and 26006.

Specific tasks include:
- Provide and operate necessary equipment and supply all services for valve replacement.
- Attend meetings with ship’s force and dive operators to discuss system tag-out prior to valve removal.
- Determine which isolation valve is leaking, then replace it with the provided valve(s).
- Unbolt, remove, and rig out existing valves while retaining usable mounting hardware for re-installation, subject to approval from the Port Engineer or Chief Engineer.
- Ensure proper alignment of pipes during valve installation, with the valve disc positioned almost closed, and follow specified torque guidelines (150-500 ft-lbs) while tightening bolts in a star configuration to ensure watertightness.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed in the Main Machinery Room (5-66-0) of the ship.
