Upgrade Doors and Hardware - Iowa City VAMC   3

Background
The Iowa City VA Medical Center is issuing a contract for the project titled 'Upgrade Doors and Hardware' under solicitation number 36C26325B0015. The mission of the VA is to provide high-quality healthcare to veterans, and this project aims to enhance security and functionality within the facility by upgrading various doors and hardware.

This contract is set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) and requires bidders to be registered as verified SDVOSBs.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary tools, materials, equipment, labor, and supervision to complete the project as outlined in the Specifications, Drawings, and Scope of Work. The scope includes:

- Replacing and/or upgrading various commercial doors (steel, aluminum, wood, lead-lined, auto sliding)
- Installing a significant amount of door hardware and accessories
- Installing PIV Access Card Readers (ACRs) and keypads along with required system components that must integrate into the Iowa City VAMC’s Lenel brand Physical Access Control System (PACS)
- Additional tasks include associated demolition work, drywall installation, painting, barrier work, and electrical work as required.

The contractor must also ensure compliance with VA training requirements for personnel involved in the project.

Period of Performance
The estimated period of performance is 212 days following a Notice to Proceed (NTP), with a requirement to begin work within ten calendar days after receiving the NTP.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Iowa City VA Medical Center campus located at 601 Hwy 6 NW, Iowa City, Iowa 52246.
