Background
The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is the federal agency responsible for granting U.S. patents and registering trademarks. The USPTO's mission is to drive U.S. innovation, inclusive capitalism, and global competitiveness by protecting new ideas and investments in innovation and creativity.

The contract aims to provide contractor support services for Automated Biotechnology Sequence Search (ABSS), Chemical Structure Searching, and Text Searching to enhance the efficiency and quality of the patent examination process.

Work Details
The contractor will perform the following tasks:
1. **Automated Biotechnology Sequence Search (ABSS)**: Conduct prior art searches of nucleic acid and polypeptide molecular sequences using the ABSS system, which includes databases like GenEMBL, N-Genseq, and UniPort. Deliverables must include reference citations and match percentages of searched sequences.
2. **Chemical Structure Searching**: Perform searches based on chemical structures using appropriate databases such as STN/CAS. Deliverables will include search results, databases used, and search strategies.
3. **Text (General) Searching**: Execute text searches based on requests, including developing search strategies and delivering results along with database lists.
4. **Transition Plans**: Develop transition plans for both transition-in and transition-out phases to ensure continuity of operations without disruption.
5. **Quality Control**: Maintain a Quality Control Plan (QCP) to ensure deliverables meet quality standards as outlined in the contract.

Period of Performance
The period of performance consists of a base year from May 16, 2025, to May 15, 2026, followed by four one-year options extending through May 15, 2030.

Place of Performance
Work will be performed at an approved alternate worksite, which may include a corporate facility or home office.
