Background
The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is planning a Design-Build (DB) project to recapitalize and modernize the waterfront infrastructure at USCG Station Juneau. This project aims to support the homeporting of the USCGC STORIS and visiting cutter classes, delivering a resilient, mission-ready waterfront facility capable of supporting Coast Guard operations in the Arctic and Alaska region, including search and rescue, maritime security, environmental response, and national defense missions.

Work Details
The project includes comprehensive design and permitting services, demolition and site clearing of existing marine structures, construction of a permanent fixed wharf designed for a 50-year service life, a heavy-duty floating pier system for NSC and OPC class cutters, an energy-absorbing fender system and mooring hardware, articulating utility and access gangways for extreme tidal ranges, cathodic protection and corrosion control systems for submerged structures, off-site utility infrastructure upgrades to increase electrical service by 6,400 AMPs, on-site integrated utility systems including potable water and fire protection systems, electrical shore power distribution systems, standby backup generator installation, lighting and security infrastructure including CCTV and access control pathways, civil site improvements such as grading and drainage, a floating small boat facility if exercised, and onsite building renovations for three existing shore-side facilities if exercised.
