Background
The Office of Technology and Manufacturing Industrial Base is responsible for ensuring the effective coordination between industrial policy and manufacturing. The Department of Defense (DoD) Manufacturing Technology Program (ManTech) aims to maintain robust, secure, resilient, and innovative manufacturing capabilities essential for fulfilling Warfighter requirements. This program seeks to identify and close gaps in manufacturing capabilities to ensure the affordable, timely, and low-risk development, production, and sustainment of defense systems.

Work Details
The contract involves a six-month extension of support services under the Manufacturing Technology Program for the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)). Key tasks include:

1. Supporting initiatives like BioMade, which focuses on bio-based fuels and materials;
2. MxD (Manufacturing x Digital), which involves lifecycle management and cybersecurity for factory equipment;
3. NextFlex, which develops durable electronics for health monitoring.

The contractor will track progress using DoD’s 10-step Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) criteria, requiring expertise in DoD standards and ManTech experience. Continued performance is critical to prevent disruptions in support services while a follow-on order is recompeted. The current contractor has employees with necessary skills and institutional knowledge to ensure seamless support.

Period of Performance
The contract extension is necessary to cover a six-month period leading up to the expiration of the current task order on April 5, 2026.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed under the auspices of the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) within the United States.
