The U.S. Senate is seeking a contractor to provide conservation services for the 1819 Chair, which is part of the Senate's collection. The goal of this contract is to ensure the preservation and restoration of this historic artifact in accordance with established guidelines and ethical standards.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide project management, administration, and conservation services, including:

1. Project Preparation: Review documentation from the Senate, participate in a kickoff meeting, coordinate shipment and treatment schedules, and inspect the chair upon delivery.

2. Condition Assessment: Assess the structural integrity and condition of both wooden elements and upholstered components of the chair.

3. Project Plan: Develop a project plan with at least two treatment scenarios for approval by the Curator, including detailed recommendations for remediation.

4. Treatment Proposals: Provide treatment options that stabilize and restore the chair while preserving original materials.

5. Replica Arms and Casters: Create replicas of original components using molds from a previous study, ensuring they are suitable for display and educational use.

Period of Performance
All work must be completed before March 31, 2027.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at locations coordinated with the U.S. Senate, including potential onsite visits.
