U S Embassy requires exterior façade restoration

Background
The U.S. Embassy Wellington is seeking to restore the exterior façade of the Chancery located at 29 Fitzherbert Terrace, Thorndon, Wellington, New Zealand. The project aims to protect and enhance the building's appearance in a coastal, windy, and moisture-prone environment. The primary goal is to restore existing timber façade elements and ensure the durability and serviceability of the Chancery's exterior.

Work Details
The contractor will perform exterior restoration work including:

- Restoration of existing timber façade elements;
- Correction of rust staining/corrosion on stainless-steel cladding;
- Replacement of existing timber material with approved exterior-grade composite or timber-look material.

The work will be treated as one coordinated project requiring exterior access to similar work areas on the three-story Chancery building. The contractor must provide all labor, supervision, tools, materials, safety equipment, transport, protection, testing, cleaning, waste disposal, and incidentals necessary for completion. Specific tasks include:

1) Inspecting site conditions and verifying measurements;
2) Restoring timber façade elements to a weather-resistant condition;
3) Providing safe exterior access using methods such as scaffolding or lifts;
4) Protecting Embassy property during work;
5) Ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
