D AY ONE

In-Person Location: Universities at Shady Grove 9630 Gudelsky Drive Building II Ballroom Rockville, MD 20850.

Virtual Option: Zoom Platform

Background: The Buy Indian Act provides opportunities for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Interior to set aside procurement opportunities for Native-owned small businesses. Each Department is committed to leveraging strategies and initiatives focused on increasing contracting opportunities to Native-owned small business firms with the goal of boosting economic development and fueling job creation across Indian Country.

Event Summary: This hybrid industry day event will feature key HHS and DOI executives, acquisition leadership and a representative from the White House Council on Native American Affairs at DOI. In addition, in-person attendees will have the opportunity to meet and network with program officials during an HHS and DOI Program Office Marketplace Event.

The National Center APEX Accelerator in partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Department of the Interior (DOI) will host virtual matchmaking sessions on Wednesday, April 26th from 8:00 am - 8:00 pm (Eastern Standard Time).

The Buy Indian Industry Day Virtual Matchmaking event is focused exclusively on American Indian and Alaskan Native businesses owned by Federally Recognized Tribes and their members. Only businesses owned by Federally Recognized Tribes, or their members should register for the matchmaker. These businesses will have the opportunity to present their products and/or services to procurement decision makers and contracting officials with the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of the Interior.
