Description

Two (2) Gas Chromatography Electron Capture Detector (GC/ECD) Systems
Background
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is seeking to procure two (2) Gas Chromatography – Electron Capture Detector (GC/ECD) systems for its Region 1, Laboratory Services and Applied Sciences Division (LSASD).

The goal of this contract is to enhance the agency's capabilities in analyzing chlorinated compounds, such as Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) and pesticides, in accordance with established laboratory methods.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide two GC/ECD systems that meet the following specifications:
- Compatibility with EPA Methods 8081B, 8082A, and 608.3.
- Dual Electron Capture Detectors (ECD).
- Capacity for two capillary columns within the GC oven (maximum dimensions: 50 m x 0.530 mm id).
- Operating temperature range of the oven: ambient to 450°C.
- Temperature ramp rate of 120°C/min.
- Ability to cool the oven from 450°C to 50°C in under 5 minutes.
- Manual start and stop buttons.
- LAN interface and touch-screen interface for monitoring and diagnostics.
- Split/splitless injections with electronic gas controls and pressure configuration control accurate within 0.001 psi.
- Hydrogen sensor and gas leak checks.
- Injection port capable of reaching temperatures up to 400°C.
- Compatibility with Thermo Scientific Chromeleon Chromatography Data System (CDS), including an autosampler with a capacity of at least 150 vials.

Delivery, installation, and on-site training are required within ninety (90) days from receipt of order at the specified EPA address. The contractor must also provide a one-year warranty starting after successful installation and acceptance by the EPA.
