Replacement of transformers at Trinity River Division
Background
The Bureau of Reclamation in the California Great Basin Region is seeking contractors for the replacement of transformers at three power plants: Spring Creek Powerplant, Judge Francis Carr Powerplant, and Trinity Powerplant. The estimated cost of the project is more than $10,000,000. This sources sought notice is for market research and acquisition planning purposes only and does not obligate the Bureau of Reclamation in any manner.

Work Details
The principal components of work include replacing nine in-service single-phase generator step-up power transformers, with three transformers located at each of the three power plants. The tasks to be completed at each power plant include supplying, removing, disposing, installing, and commissioning the GSU power transformers. Additionally, modifications to existing isolated phase bus for connection to new transformers and furnishing and installing seismic anchorage systems for new transformers are required.

The work is located at Spring Creek Powerplant approximately 6 miles northwest of Redding, CA, in Shasta County; at Judge Francis Carr Powerplant approximately 12 miles northwest of Redding, CA, in Shasta County; and at Trinity Powerplant approximately 30 miles northwest of Redding, CA, in Trinity County.
