Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is issuing this contract for tree removal services at the Knightville Dam Project located in Huntington, Massachusetts.

The mission of the agency is to manage and maintain water resources and infrastructure, and this contract aims to remove approximately 265 trees to ensure safety and environmental compliance, particularly concerning the Northern Long Eared Bat's inactive season.

Work Details
The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the removal and disposal of approximately 265 trees at the Knightville Dam Project. Specific tasks include:
1. Removing trees marked by the Technical Point of Contact while ensuring that tree stumps are left no higher than six inches.
2. Lowering limbs to allow safe trunk removal without interference with nearby infrastructure such as wires and buildings.
3. Clearing the work area for safe working conditions and barricading if necessary.
4. Immediate removal of debris from roadways to prevent hazardous conditions.
5. Proper disposal of all logs, limbs, wood chips, and debris offsite in accordance with state and local laws.
6. Raking fine lawn areas to pre-work condition or better upon completion, as well as sweeping pavements to a similar standard.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract will be from contract award through April 14, 2025, with field work scheduled to begin no earlier than November 1, 2024.

The work will be performed at the Knightville Dam located at 49 Knightville Dam Road, Huntington, MA 01050.
