Tree Removal and Stump Grinding for Stones River N

Background
The National Park Service (NPS) is seeking to procure tree removal and stump grinding services for Stones River National Cemetery, located in Murfreesboro, TN. This cemetery is significant as it serves as the final resting place for over 6,100 Union soldiers from the Civil War. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safe dismantling, removal, and disposal of trees and stumps while maintaining the integrity and dignity of the cemetery.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for removing a total of 18 trees and their stumps. The scope of work includes:
- Safe dismantling and removal of trees and stumps.
- Backfilling stump cavities with clean, weed-free imported topsoil after stump grinding.
- Provision of all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and tools to complete the work.
- Removal of all debris in a safe manner without collateral damage to park resources.
- Compliance with Federal, State, and Local safety requirements including ANSI Z.133.1-2017 Safety Requirements for Arboricultural Operations.
- Conducting a wildlife survey prior to work commencement to ensure no nesting birds are present.
- Maintaining clear roads, paths, and sidewalks at the end of each workday.
- Providing traffic control measures as per the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
- Preserving existing vegetation that does not interfere with the work and restoring any damaged areas at no additional cost.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed from September 2, 2024, to December 2, 2024.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at Stones River National Cemetery located at 2552 Old Nashville Hwy, Murfreesboro, TN 37129.
