TREAS - IRS - Fortinet Hardware & Software Recompete - MRAS

On behalf of the Department of the Treasury (TREAS), the General Services Administration (GSA) is conducting market research to support a recompete for Fortinet hardware and software maintenance services. This effort is crucial to sustaining and enhancing the Internal Revenue Service's (IRS) network infrastructure, specifically within its Network Services organization. The primary goal is to ensure continuous support for existing Fortinet firewalls and associated components, which are vital for maintaining secure, reliable, and scalable network operations.

This requirement involves renewing Fortinet firewall maintenance and support services as part of a broader strategy to modernize IRS network infrastructure. The services are essential for supporting various enterprise initiatives like the Common Communications Gateway (CCG) Redesign and maintaining a Network Services Engineering Lab Environment. These initiatives aim to modernize traffic flow, architecture, and hardware while ensuring that testing environments mirror production configurations for effective deployment of new technologies.

The contractor selected will be responsible for providing original equipment manufacturer (OEM) products and services without substitutions or grey market items. They must also ensure all services are IPv6 compliant. Specific tasks include offering FortiCare Premium Support, Unified Threat Protection bundles, FortiAnalyzer-VM support, among others. Additionally, optional onsite technical support services may be required as part of this contract.

This recompete consolidates existing efforts under previous contracts used to procure Fortinet hardware and software solutions. The place of performance includes Kearneysville, WV; Memphis, TN; and Ogden, UT. By securing these vital services through a competitive procurement process, TREAS aims to uphold IRS's high standards in network security while addressing compliance requirements set forth by recent audits.
