Description

This is a Request for Quotation for a ONE (1) Base Year Purchase Agreement, with the option to exercise TWO (2) Option Years. The contractor shall provide transportation and disposal services for both special wastes and non-special wastes as defined under Illinois Environmental Protection Agency's regulations, in accordance with Appendix B Argonne National Laboratory Statement of Work, dated April 23, 2024, and Appendix C Argonne National Laboratory Price Schedule, dated May 22, 2024.

Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) is a DOE Research and Development (R & D) laboratory. The R & D activities encompass a number of different scientific disciplines, including physical research, high-energy physics, biomedical and environmental research, energy research and engineering research. The Laboratory ongoing research and associated maintenance and operations activities produce various waste streams are generated as described in Section 3.0, of Appendix B-SOW. These waste streams shall be treated in manners that are compliant with applicable local, state, and federal requirements.

Background
Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) is a DOE Research and Development (R & D) laboratory. The R & D activities encompass a number of different scientific disciplines, including physical research, high-energy physics, biomedical and environmental research, energy research and engineering research. The Laboratory ongoing research and associated maintenance and operations activities produce various waste streams are generated as described in Section 3.0, of Appendix B-SOW. These waste streams shall be treated in manners that are compliant with applicable local, state, and federal requirements.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide transportation and disposal services for both special wastes and non-special wastes as defined under Illinois Environmental Protection Agency’s regulations. The contractor shall provide all transportation and disposal services necessary for proper disposal of the waste, including technical expertise and processes. The wastes will include both special wastes and non-special wastes such as asbestos containing materials, sewage sludges, contaminated soils and debris, off-specification products, and other discarded materials and chemicals.

The waste will also include waste items that will require special handling, i.e., Oversize items or heavy items. Those items will require special equipment for transportation and loading and offloading. These items will vary in size, shape and weight. They will be managed and priced on a case by case-by-case basis.

Period of Performance
This is a one (1) base year agreement, to begin 09/01/2024 and end 08/31/2025, with the option to exercise two (2) option years, extending through to 08/31/2027.
