Description

Toxicology and Ecology Research Support Contract at the Great Lakes Toxicology and Ecology Division, Duluth, Minnesota
Background
The U.S. EPA, Office of Research and Development (ORD), Center for Computational Toxicology and Exposure (CCTE) intends to procure a contract for toxicological and ecological research support services at its Great Lakes Toxicology and Ecology Division (GLTED) in Duluth, Minnesota.

The mission of GLTED is to provide scientific information for predicting and assessing the effects of pollutants on freshwater resources. The Division collaborates with various partners including States, Tribes, federal agencies, and research organizations to integrate solution-oriented research with core programs. This contract aims to support the protection of the chemical, physical, and biological integrity of the nation’s waters through research in freshwater ecology and ecotoxicology.

Work Details
The Contractor shall furnish necessary personnel, supplies, and equipment to perform toxicological and ecological research support services as described in this document. Specific tasks include:

1. Contract Program Manager: A full-time on-site program manager will supervise all activities under this contract, ensuring compliance with EPA policies. The PM will maintain records and prepare monthly progress reports.
2. Culture Unit Support: Tasks related to the culture of fish and invertebrates.
3. Electronics Support: Providing technical support for electronic systems.
4. Toxicology and Ecology Research Support: Conducting research aligned with GLTED's mission.
5. Field Support: Staffing for field operations including the Lake Explorer II vessel.
6. Deliverables will be specified in Task Orders issued by the Task Order Representative (TOCOR).
