Tornado Restoration

Background
The contract is for tornado restoration work at a facility that was damaged by a tornado in December 2021. The scope of work includes repairs, restorations, and upgrades to return the building and site to postal operations. The work involves a wide range of tasks such as removing and replacing damaged site railings, flagpole and base, ground-mounted HVAC equipment, site lighting poles and bases, historic entry lighting fixtures, repairing landscaping, adding concrete pads for aprons and truck pads, mill, resurface, and re-stripe paving, adding exterior wall-mounted area lighting, repairing exterior masonry and historical limestone ornaments, rebuilding roof structures, adding roof drains and leaders as noted, removing remnant of exterior windows and replacing with new windows to match historic windows, adding security films to glazing as noted, removing loose equipment, supplies, and debris from the interior, salvaging for re-installation all displaced P.O. boxes, coordinating with Postmaster items to be salvaged, removing loose flooring and carpets, removing suspended plaster ceiling as noted, repairing and protecting historical plaster and plaster ornaments in lobbies, providing additional demolition of walls, ceilings, and items as noted on plans, cleaning and repairing all plaster surfaces scheduled to remain. All work shall be applicable codes and local regulations that may apply.

Work Details
The detailed construction tasks include but are not limited to:
- Removing and replacing damaged site railings
- Replacing flagpole and base
- Replacing ground-mounted HVAC equipment
- Replacing site lighting poles and bases
- Repairing landscaping
- Adding concrete pads for aprons and truck pads
- Milling resurfacing re-striping paving
- Adding exterior wall-mounted area lighting
- Repairing exterior masonry historical limestone ornaments
- Rebuilding roof structures
- Adding roof drains leaders as noted
- Removing remnant of exterior windows replacing with new windows matching historic windows
- Adding security films to glazing as noted
- Removing loose equipment supplies debris from interior
- Salvaging displaced P.O. boxes coordinating with Postmaster items to be salvaged
- Removing loose flooring carpets suspended plaster ceiling as noted
- Repairing protecting historical plaster plaster ornaments in lobbies
- Providing additional demolition of walls ceilings items as noted on plans
- Cleaning repairing all plaster surfaces scheduled remain.
It also includes:
- Removing retail casework;
- Adding new construction reconfiguring as noted on plans;
- Repairing replacing adding doors frames as noted;
- Providing new HVAC equipment ducts controls;
- Providing new electrical service conduits receptacle occupancy sensors;
- Providing new plumbing fixtures restroom accessories;
- Providing new retail breakroom casework;
- Providing new floor finishes wall finishes;
Reconfiguring P.O. boxes to a new layout;
Adding a fire alarm system.
