Telecom Data Cabling & Wiring Services

Background
The United States Secret Service (USSS), Office of Administrative Operations Division (AOD) is responsible for coordinating miscellaneous services for office requirements in the Washington, DC area and all field offices.

The AOD aims to obtain the services of a telecom contractor to perform data cabling and wiring services as required, specifically for the installation, repairs, and removal of telecom data cabling and wiring for USSS offices and labs in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide telecom data cabling and wiring services on an as-needed basis, which includes:

- Installing, terminating, testing, and documenting telephone, data network, Fiber Optic, CATV, and CCTV cabling systems;
- Providing necessary materials such as telephone and network cables, patch panels, outlet jacks, faceplates, equipment racks, equipment cabinets, and connectors;
- Troubleshooting network cabling systems;
- Designing and engineering structured cabling systems.

All cables must be run via existing under floor cable pathways with voice, data, and fiber installed in separated pathways. The contractor is responsible for removing and re-installing 2'x2' carpet sections and 2'x2' screwed down floor tiles to access cable pathways. Compliance with NFPA 70, NEC standards, and EIA/TIA 568-A cabling standards is required. All cables must be tested to EIA/TIA 568-B.1, EIA/TIA 568-B.2, and EIA/TIA 568-B.3 standards.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various USSS locations in the Washington, DC area including the White House Complex; Naval Observatory; Headquarters; RTC – Beltsville; Warehouses MD/DC; Special Services Division.
