Background
The Government Accountability Office (GAO) is seeking industry perspectives on technical solutions and innovative approaches for GAO Information Technology (IT) Support Services (ISTS) outlined in the DRAFT Performance Work Statement (PWS). The contract aims to enhance network performance and security, align network infrastructure with business goals, conduct root cause analyses, manage databases, evaluate cloud service providers, implement security measures, develop backup and disaster recovery strategies, optimize system performance, implement automation tools, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and maintain accurate documentation.

Work Details
The tasks under this contract include technology information services such as enhancing network performance and security, collaborating with other IT teams to align network infrastructure with business goals, conducting root cause analyses, managing databases including design, installation, configuration, backup, recovery and performance tuning, evaluating cloud service providers and selecting appropriate services based on organizational needs, implementing and maintaining robust security measures for both cloud and database environments to ensure compliance with industry standards and data protection regulations. Additionally, the tasks involve developing and maintaining backup and disaster recovery strategies for both cloud resources and databases to ensure business continuity in case of data loss or system failures. The contract also includes monitoring and analyzing system performance to identify bottlenecks and implementing optimizations to improve overall system efficiency. Automation tools are to be implemented to streamline cloud provisioning, database management tasks, and routine maintenance. Proactive identification and resolution of issues related to cloud services and databases is required to minimize downtime and impact on business operations. The contractor is also responsible for maintaining accurate documentation of cloud configurations, database schemas, policies, and procedures.
