Description

The purpose of the acquisition is to provide a variety of critical cancer prevention information management functions
necessary to support the identification, development, and qualification of potential cancer preventive agents for
Investigational New Drug (IND) applications to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for clinical trials. Support
for cancer preventive agent development includes the gathering and organizing of information from the research,
pharmaceutical, and medical literature; preclinical and clinical technical project reports; scientific meetings; and private industry documents provided to the NCI under confidentiality agreements. Support also includes abstracting and maintaining databases of technical reports; abstracting application materials for the PREVENT Cancer Preclinical Drug Development Program (PREVENT); preparing specific chemical and biological agents and general class documents and structure/function and genomic/proteomic informational and statistical analyses for DCP programs;
drafting and finalizing minutes of the PREVENT meetings; and identifying and reporting potential opportunities in
cancer preventive agent development research.
Background
The purpose of the acquisition is to provide a variety of critical cancer prevention information management functions necessary to support the identification, development, and qualification of potential cancer preventive agents for Investigational New Drug (IND) applications to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for clinical trials. The contract is issued by the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, with the goal of supporting cancer preventive agent development through information gathering, organizing, abstracting, maintaining databases, preparing specific chemical and biological agents, drafting minutes of meetings, and identifying potential opportunities in cancer preventive agent development research.

Work Details
The tasks include technical information research resources for cancer preventive agent development. The contractor shall furnish all necessary services, qualified personnel, material, equipment, and facilities to perform the Statement of Work. This includes gathering and organizing information from research, pharmaceutical and medical literature; abstracting and maintaining databases of technical reports; preparing specific chemical and biological agents; drafting and finalizing minutes of meetings; identifying and reporting potential opportunities in cancer preventive agent development research. The contractor shall also submit various reports such as Technical Progress Reports, Quarterly Progress Reports, Annual Progress Report, Draft Final Report, Summary of Salient Results, Agent Development Information Databases. Additionally, the contractor shall comply with HHS Security and Privacy Language for Information and IT procurements.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is from 08/30/2023 through 08/29/2024. There are also options for additional periods if exercised by the government.

Place of Performance
The contract work will be performed at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD 20892-9705.
