Tantalum Ingots

Background
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Strategic Materials, through the DLA Contracting Services Office – Columbus Division 3 (DCSO-C3), intends to issue a sole source Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for Tantalum Ingots. This acquisition is critical for the Department of Defense (DoD) as Tantalum is utilized in various defense systems and is also used in Research and Development applications at government-funded research centers.

The goal of this contract is to procure Tantalum ingot, which can be readily transformed into forms needed by the DoD and is a shelf-stable material for addition to the National Defense Stockpile (NDS). The estimated value of the contract ranges from a guaranteed minimum of $5,000 to a maximum of $100 million over a five-year period.

Work Details
The contract will involve the procurement of Tantalum Ingots compliant with ASTM B364-18 Type R05200. The total quantity expected to be procured over five years is up to 535,440.23 pounds. The estimated yearly quantities are as follows:

- Year 1: 41,753.65 lbs
- Year 2: 114,077.11 lbs
- Year 3: 138,532.93 lbs
- Year 4: 126,167.04 lbs
- Year 5: 114,909.50 lbs.

The contractor will be responsible for sourcing, packaging, and delivering the awarded quantity of Tantalum Ingots to the DLA Strategic Materials Scotia Depot in New York. Pricing will be on a Firm-Fixed Price basis with delivery expected within three years after each delivery order issuance.

Period of Performance
Five-year ordering period with delivery expected within three years after each delivery order issuance.
