Background
The project involves maintenance dredging of Tampa Harbor, specifically targeting the Upper Channels and Cut-G (PT) in Hillsborough County, Florida. The primary goal of this contract is to ensure navigability and safety within the harbor by removing sediment and debris. The work is overseen by the Jacksonville District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which is responsible for maintaining waterways and ensuring environmental compliance during construction activities.

Work Details
The scope of work includes maintenance dredging at specified areas within Tampa Harbor, allowing for 1 foot of overdepth in dredged areas. All dredged materials must be disposed of at DMPF-2D. Additional tasks include turbidity monitoring, sea turtle trawling and relocation, bird monitoring, and environmental species monitoring. Contractors are required to use Coast Guard Certified dredge equipment. Specific safety protocols must be followed, including a Hazardous Energy Control Program (HECP) in accordance with EM 385-1-1 standards. A fall protection program must also be established to protect employees from fall hazards during operations.

Turbidity monitoring must adhere to strict guidelines including sampling techniques approved by relevant authorities and compliance with FDEP permit requirements.

Period of Performance
