Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, National Cemetery Administration is issuing this solicitation for the Tallahassee National Cemetery National Shrine Irrigation Project. The mission of the National Cemetery Administration is to honor veterans with a final resting place and lasting memorials that commemorate their service to the nation.

This project aims to repair and replace components of the existing Rainbird Automated Irrigation System at the cemetery, ensuring that it meets the standards of maintenance and operational procedures reflective of the nation's concern for those interred there.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for repairing and replacing components of the existing Rainbird Automated Irrigation System, which includes valve in-heads, mid-sized rotary heads, large rotary heads, and traditional spray heads. The system operates with 6 controllers and 343 valves.

Specific tasks include:
- Upgrading old Rain Bird irrigation controllers;
- Replacing all 2-wire electrical control wiring and components;
- Repairing electric control valves;
- Installing new Rainbird valve in head sprinklers, block valve sprinklers, decoders, IQ4 communications systems;
- Implementing a lightning protection system;
- Repairing mainline and lateral line piping using new Rain Bird irrigation parts.

The contractor must ensure that the irrigation system is fully functional and operational as specified by the manufacturer. All labor, supervision, equipment, materials, and supplies necessary for these repairs must be provided by the contractor. The work must not interfere with scheduled ceremonies or funerals at the cemetery.

Period of Performance
The contract performance period begins within 10 calendar days after receiving an award and is expected to be completed within 365 calendar days.

The construction projects will be performed at Tallahassee National Cemetery located at 5015 Apalachee Pkwy, Tallahassee, FL 32311.
