Background
The United States Air Force, 7th Contracting Squadron, located on Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas, is conducting market research to identify potential sources capable of providing Tactical Communication Headsets for both garrison and field usage.

Work Details
The Tactical Communication Headsets must meet the following specifications:
- Integrated microphone mounting and connection point.
- Easily configurable from a headset to a helmet-mounted system.
- Noise-cancelling headset/microphone.
- Mission configurable capability with modular design including detachable downlead cable and Push-To-Talk (PTT) system.
- Double hearing protection enabled with optional Near Field Magnetic Induction (NFMI) Earplugs.

Specific components include:
- Downlead Cable: U174 Binaural cable, 21” in length, capable of sending audio signals to both earcups.
- Earplug Kit: Compatible with NFMI-enabled Headsets and functional as stand-alone Ear Pro.
- Helmet Rail Mount Kit: Compatible with the Headset for mounting on a helmet, allowing earcups to rotate to the side or rear when not in use.
- Platform Adapter for Team Wendy Helmet: Adapts Rail Mount Kit to Team Wendy EXFIL helmet.
- PRC163 Radio Cable: Modular radio cable compatible with PRC163 radio, 21” in length, connecting to modular PTT.
- Modular Push-To-Talk (PTT): Two-channel options for connecting two individual radio systems (e.g., PRC163, Motorola Radio), recessed buttons to prevent accidental keying, left and right-hand buttons, and adjustable MOLLE clip.
