Synopsis for Protective Security Officer (PSO) services throughout the state of North Carolina

Background
The Federal Protective Service Acquisitions Division intends to issue a sole source extension of up to three (3) months to the current ordering period of an existing indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity type contract, 70RFP118DE4000001 with Paragon Systems, Inc. The extension begins on 08/01/2023 and will provide continued armed Protective Security Officer (PSO) services throughout the state of North Carolina and to allow placement of a new contract to continue critical PSO services at various locations. The government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis with Paragon Systems under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1) as implemented by 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.

Work Details
The requirement is to provide Armed PSO services at locations throughout the State of North Carolina. Paragon Systems, Inc. is currently performing under the six (6) month option on January 31, 2023 for the period of performance commencing on February 1, 2023 and ending on July 31, 2023. To complete the competitive procurement process and provide a transition period for the new follow-on contract, FPS AD finds it necessary to request approval for an additional three (3) months of service under the authority for other than full and open competition cited herein. This will extend the ordering period under Contract 70RFP118DE4000001 from August 1, 2023 through October 31, 2023.
