Background
The Federal Prison Industries (UNICOR) program, established in 1934, operates as a wholly owned corporation of the United States Government. Its mission is to protect society and reduce crime by preparing inmates with job training and practical work skills for successful reentry into society. UNICOR aims to create safer prisons and reduce inmate recidivism while operating at no cost to taxpayers.

The organization seeks to enter into an agreement with private sector companies for the installation of lighting replacement components on the 7th floor of the federal building located at 400 1st St NW, Washington DC 20534.

Work Details
The scope of this contract includes providing necessary labor and materials to install:

- (35) 2x4 non-dim Lithonia model # 2ESL4 48L Mvolt EOHN LP835 LED fixtures or equivalent;
- (10) occupancy sensors and power packs for lighting control, specifically sensor switch model #CM-PDT-9 or equivalent and power pack sensor switch PP-20 or equivalent;
- (8) 1 pole 20-amp switches for override of sensors.

All light fixtures must be supported from the building structure, with wiring installed per NEC using MC cable. The contractor is responsible for cleaning up any debris created during the installation process, which may occur during normal working hours or weekends to avoid disrupting daily functions. A one-year warranty is required on the installation work.

Period of Performance
The estimated time frame for completion of the project is approximately 60 days from the start date.

The work will be performed at the Federal Prison Industries (UNICOR) — Central Office Building located at 400 1st Street NW, Washington, DC 20534.
