Surgical Beds Marion Indiana

This is a Sources Sought (SS) Notice only; it is not a Solicitation (i.e., Request for Proposal, Request for Quotation, or Invitation for Bids.), This SS is part of the Government's market research effort to determine the scope of industry capabilities and interest and will be treated as information only. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responses to this SS are strictly voluntary and the Government will not pay respondents for information provided in response to this SS. Responses to this SS will not be returned and respondents will not be notified of the result of the review. Although responses to the questions posed by the Government would be most beneficial to this market research effort.

The purpose of this SS is to conduct Market Research to determine an acquisition strategy, to include determining if there are a sufficient number of Small Businesses capable of performing the requirements to warrant a set-aside, for the procurement of surgical patient beds at the Marion VA Medical Center, 1700 East 38th Street, Marion, Indiana 46953-4568.

The Marion VAMC requires a fully motorized electric hospital bed that allows patients and staff to adjust bed height and surface contours.

The frame of the bed must be rated to support a patient weight of 500lbs with a safe working load of at least 650lbs. Frame must include IV pole sockets, brake and steering controls, manual and powered transporting capabilities. Bed must also have removeable headboard and footboard and well as removable and locking siderails.

The bed must possess technological features that allows 100% compatibility with the nurse call system use at the Marion VAMC and shall require no modifications to the bed or existing systems used at the Marion VAMC.

Other required technological capabilities/features include but are not limited to audible and visual alerts, pulse monitoring, heat rate monitoring, respiratory rate monitoring, built in scale, touchscreen interface, bed exit alerts, USB ports, patient remote control, backup batter power.

Mattress must be designed and include power air features to help manage pressure, shear, and moisture to deliver optimal wound prevention and treatment. Mattress features must include pressure redistribution, microclimate management and turn assistance.

Potential sources must demonstrate the capability to provide the required equipment. Potential sources should submit:

  • Point of Contact with email address and phone number.
  • Business name and address.
  • Applicable business socio-economic category.
  • GSA, NAC, TAC, or SAC contract number if applicable.
  • Capability statement and/or brochures of the equipment to allow for assessment of meeting the requirements stated above.
  • SAM UEI number.
  • Delivery days After Receipt of Order (ARO).
  • What country made the product is made in; and
  • Whether or not your company is the OEM or a distributor. If a distributor, indicate who the OEM is and provide authorized distributor letter.
  • Letter from Hill-Rom stating compatibility.

Proprietary/Competition Sensitive information (appropriately marked) will be protected from disclosure to the greatest extent practical, however it is preferred that respondents do not provide proprietary or otherwise restricted responses unless they are indicating proprietary technical characteristics.

Vendors are hereby notified that if a competitive solicitation is issued on the Beta SAM website http:// https://sam.gov at a later date, all interested parties must respond to that Solicitation announcement separately from any response to this SS announcement. This SS does not restrict the Government's acquisition approach on a future Solicitation.

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting market research to determine the capabilities and interest of industry in providing surgical patient beds for the Marion VA Medical Center located at 1700 East 38th Street, Marion, Indiana.

This Sources Sought Notice is part of the Government's effort to assess whether there are sufficient small businesses capable of fulfilling the requirements to warrant a set-aside for this procurement.

Work Details
