This requirement is for surgical instrument repair for the Marion VAMC and Evansville Healthcare Center.

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking a contractor to provide surgical instrument repair services for the Marion VA Medical Center and Evansville Healthcare Center. The goal of this contract is to ensure the maintenance and functionality of surgical instruments used in various medical procedures, thereby supporting the VA's mission to provide high-quality healthcare to veterans.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for onsite surgical instrument maintenance and repair services, including:
- Up to 12 monthly onsite service visits per year at the Marion VA Medical Center and up to 6 bimonthly visits per year at the Evansville Health Care Center.
- Routine services such as sharpening, adjustment, repair, and case cart maintenance.
- Up to four approved offsite repairs per campus per year when onsite repairs are not feasible.
- Support for up to five out-of-cycle urgent repairs per facility per year.
- Scheduled preventative maintenance on all surgical instruments once per year, with coordination required with Sterile Processing Department leadership.
- On-site repairs including alignment, adjustments, refinishing, buffing, sharpening, and parts replacement for various types of instruments (e.g., orthopedic, cardiovascular, dental).
- Maintenance must comply with manufacturer’s specifications and ANSI-AAMI ST-79 standards.
- The contractor must ensure all instruments are decontaminated prior to inspection and maintain open communication with VAMC staff.

Period of Performance
The contract includes a Base Year with up to four Option Years. Work will be performed during business hours, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.
