Background
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is conducting market research to gather information regarding available suppressors, muzzle devices, and training suppressors that meet preliminary requirements.

This Request for Information (RFI) aims to identify qualified vendors capable of fulfilling these requirements and will assist in formulating final specifications for an upcoming Request for Proposal (RFP). The FBI seeks feedback from industry partners to shape the final requirements and test protocols.

Work Details
The FBI is seeking the following products: 5.56mm/.223 caliber suppressors, muzzle devices, and training suppressors (non-lethal training aids).

The preliminary requirements include:
1. Compatibility with the FBI’s existing fleet of carbines chambered in 5.56 NATO.
2. Low back pressure or high flow rate design allowing gases to vent through ports separate from the bore.
3. A minimum decibel reduction of no less than 10 dB when fired with FBI service ammunition.
4. Minimal suppressor shift when installed on an FBI carbine.
5. Consistent repeatability in point of impact after removal and reinstallation.
6. Overall length increase not exceeding 6 inches, weight not exceeding 20 ounces, and diameter not exceeding 1.8 inches.
7. Quick-detach (QD) design with a positive lock mechanism, warranty for at least 10,000 rounds, available colors including Flat Dark Earth or similar and black for suppressors, blue for training suppressors.
