Background
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and focuses on understanding how environmental factors affect human health. The NIEHS aims to promote healthier lives through innovative research.

The Comparative Medicine Branch (CMB) at NIEHS manages the animal care and use program, which includes various responsibilities such as facility management, animal procurement, health surveillance, and support for scientific staff. Currently, NIEHS houses approximately 40,000 rodents in 17,500 cages using Tecniplast Individually Ventilated Caging (IVC) systems for standard housing. This solicitation seeks to establish a centralized purchasing mechanism for replacement parts, consumable items, and equipment necessary for maintaining these IVC systems.

Work Details
The contract involves supplying and maintaining Tecniplast IVC systems with specific requirements including:
- Only replacement parts manufactured for use with Tecniplast IVC systems are acceptable.
- Existing logistical equipment designed for Tecniplast cages is required.
- The contractor must provide documentation validating that all replacement parts function properly with the Tecniplast IVC systems used at NIEHS.
- All products must be new, constructed from specified materials, and packaged to indicate part numbers.
