Background
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is issuing this solicitation for a sub-boiling distiller to further purify ultrapure water for test material and standards development.

The need arises from the semiconductor manufacturing sector, which requires ongoing risk analysis of cleaning chemical purity. As next-generation chips demand even purer materials, advanced metrological capabilities are necessary to detect, identify, and quantify impurities in cleaning chemicals. The purification of water to ultrapure standards is critical in semiconductor and research applications, where trace contaminants can compromise integrity and affect downstream processes.
