Steris Sterilizer Equipment Maintenance and Service   3

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Puget Sound VA Health Care System, requires a qualified contractor to provide on-site, full-service maintenance and repair for Steris sterilizer equipment. This contract aims to ensure that the sterilization equipment is maintained in proper operating condition according to manufacturer specifications, thereby ensuring the safe and effective sterilization of medical instruments. The contract includes all necessary parts and services for preventative maintenance and on-site repairs.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all necessary personnel, travel, labor, materials, tools, documentation, and parts required for on-site repairs and quarterly scheduled maintenance for the Seattle Division and American Lake Steris Sterilizer Equipment. Maintenance and repair services are to be provided from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. The equipment must be operable and available for use 96% of normal operating hours. Specific tasks include:

1. **Quarterly Preventative Maintenance**: Cleaning the system, performing system validation and calibration, replacing susceptible parts to ensure performance as designed by the manufacturer, returning equipment to operational condition, and providing certified in-service training to staff.

2. **Unscheduled Maintenance**: Providing repair services including calibration to manufacturer specifications, cleaning, oiling, adjusting, replacing parts as needed with OEM parts.

3. **Response Time**: Contractor's Field Service Engineer (FSE) must respond within two hours of notification and commence on-site work within eight hours if the issue cannot be resolved over the phone.

Period of Performance
The contract period consists of a base year starting from March 1, 2026, through February 28, 2027, with four additional option years extending through February 28, 2031.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Puget Sound VA Health Care System located at 1660 South Columbian Way, Seattle WA 98108.
