Sterile Processing Service (SPS) Water Testing - STX VAMC   2

Background
The South Texas Veterans Healthcare System is seeking a contractor to provide Sterile Processing Services (SPS) for water testing, maintenance, and repair of sterile processing water systems. This service is critical for ensuring that all clinical departments have access to sterile equipment, which is essential for patient safety and care.

The updated AAMI ST108:2023 Standard has introduced new requirements for monthly critical water sampling at various locations, necessitating a comprehensive testing approach beyond current contracts.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Testing of utility water, critical water, and steam according to ANSI/AAMI ST108:2023 guidelines.
2. Maintenance and repair of sterile processing equipment related to critical water production and steam sterilization systems. This includes changing Deionized (DI) tanks, system filters, and Reverse Osmosis (RO) membranes as per the specified frequencies in ST108.
3. Performing quarterly sanitization of RO systems and distribution loops.
4. Installation of continuous in-line monitoring devices for pH, conductivity, and flow meters at all sites within the critical water distribution loop.
5. Providing all necessary labor, materials, tools, equipment, licenses, and permits to fulfill contract requirements.

Period of Performance
Base Year: 30 June 2026 – 29 June 2027; 1st Option Year: 30 June 2027 – 29 June 2028; 2nd Option Year: 30 June 2028 – 29 June 2029; 3rd Option Year: 30 June 2029 – 29 June 2030; 4th Option Year: 30 June 2030 – 29 June 2031.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations including Audie Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio, Dental SPS in San Antonio, Kerrville SPS in Kerrville, and Northwest Healthcare Center SPS in San Antonio.
