Background
The National Naval Aviation Museum (NNAM) has a requirement for 86 closed steel shelving units to be procured from a single vendor. This is to ensure standard fittings and maximum modularity of the components. The museum must provide adequate storage space for the long-term protection and security of U.S. Navy heritage assets, including archival materials.
The required shelving units will replace rolling shelves in the Emil Buehler Naval Aviation Library’s archival storage annex, allowing for the expansion of storage space for the museum’s current archival collections.

Work Details
The required 86 closed steel shelving units must meet specific height and depth requirements due to the dimensions of the spaces where installation will take place and the dimensions of archival storage boxes most frequently used by EBNAL. The shelving units are substantially taller than the rolling shelves to take full advantage of the height of the room, creating an estimated 1,000 linear feet of new storage space.
The vendor is not required to install the units but must include shipping and handling/freight charges in the bid, along with any miscellaneous charges and their descriptions. The delivery date for the shelving units is no later than 15 July 2024, with an earlier delivery date preferred if possible.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is until 15 July 2024, which is the delivery date for the 86 closed steel shelving units.

Place of Performance
The 86 closed steel shelving units will be delivered to the National Naval Aviation Museum at 1750 Radford Blvd., Building 3465, Library Annex, Pensacola, FL 32508. NNAM has a forklift for unloading crates and materials at this location.
