Description

STECK PARK PRUNING & TREE REMOVAL
Background
The Steck Park Pruning & Tree Removal project is initiated by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to enhance public health and safety at the Steck Park Campground. The project aims to address hazardous tree conditions by removing and thinning trees, thereby ensuring a safer environment for visitors. The BLM's mission includes managing public lands for multiple uses while ensuring the protection of natural resources.

Work Details
The contractor will perform the following tasks:

1. Attend an on-site meeting with the BDO Contract Officer Representative (COR) after award but before work commencement.

2. Ensure all work complies with OSHA Regulations and ANSI Z133 Safety Standards for Arboriculture.

3. Communicate daily with the BDO COR when on-site and ready to commence work.

4. Ensure site security and safety, marking drop zones with cones or caution tape, and blocking public roadways and walkways as necessary.

5. Remove two standing mature/hazardous trees and limb eight trees, adhering to guidelines in the attached 'Steck Park Tree Work' report regarding tree sizes, locations, and disposal methods. Trees near campground facilities must be sectioned to prevent damage.

Debris up to 6 inches in diameter will be chipped on-site; larger debris will be cut into lengths less than 20 inches and stacked on-site. All trees must be flush cut near ground level (less than 6-inch stump height), and the site must be restored to its original condition post-work.

Period of Performance
The contract work is scheduled to be performed from November 3, 2025, through February 13, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will take place at Steck Park Campground, located at the end of Olds Ferry Road approximately 21 miles northwest of Weiser, Idaho.
