Background
The National Park Service (NPS) is seeking quotations for construction services to decommission wells at the Ste. Genevieve National Historical Park. The project aims to restore and maintain historical structures, specifically focusing on the well caps at the Jean Baptiste Valle House and Kern House. This initiative aligns with NPS's mission to preserve cultural heritage and ensure the integrity of historical sites.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:

1. Reconstructing, repointing, and sealing four historic well caps located at the Jean Baptiste Valle House and Kern House.

2. Specific tasks include:

a. Inspecting the limestone cap of the Jean Baptiste Valle Well and replacing any masonry that is lacking mortar or stones using an approved mortar mix.

b. For Kern House Well #1, which stands approximately 3 ft tall, inspect and replace any missing masonry above grade with an approved mortar mix.

c. For Kern House Well #2, standing approximately 2.5 ft tall with a clay brick wall, inspect and replace any missing bricks or mortar as necessary.

d. For Kern House Well #3, also approximately 2.5 ft tall with a split limestone cap, inspect and replace any lacking masonry above grade using an approved mortar mix.

e. Dismantling of existing well caps must be done carefully to avoid damage during removal, followed by inspection of the masonry structure above grade for repairs.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period of 180 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at Ste. Genevieve National Historical Park located in Sainte Genevieve, Missouri.
