Description

The Department of State (DOS) operates and maintains existing Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems at 21 major cities throughout the United States. Special Agents from the Bureau of Diplomatic Security at these field offices require two-way radio communications during their protection of the Secretary of State, protection of visiting foreign dignitaries, law enforcement activities, and investigatory work.

Additionally, the DoS operates and maintains existing LMR systems at 280 U.S. Embassies or Consulates called Emergency & Evacuation (E&E) and Emergency Action Committee (EAC) radio networks. These networks are comprised of separate repeaters located either on the compound or somewhere in the city, at a geographically advantageous high point (building top, mountain top, or tower) for greater long range radio frequency (RF) coverage.

Under this State Repeater contract, the contractor shall provide repeater equipment in 5 configurations for both UHF and VHF frequencies and ancillary services such as program management, training, technical support, and warranty support.
